Music at Tateuchi welcomes new Artistic Director Dawn Harms

We are pleased to welcome Dawn Harms as the new Artistic Director for Music at Tateuchi. Harms’ diverse career ranges from being a chamber musician, violin soloist, and concertmaster, to being a music director and conductor. She is a first violinist in the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Associate Concertmaster for the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and Co-Concertmaster with the Oakland Symphony. Applications are now open for Music at Tateuchi. Deadline is April 30, 2024.

The Sobrato Hallway is full of skillful art from students in our Artistic Intelligence program. The program is held in partnership with the Morgan Autism Center, AbilityPath and the Mountain View Los Altos School District. We are proud of their hard work! Music in Action concerts inspire students to learn music

CSMA’s Music4Schools Program presents Music In Action concert assemblies for third through fifth grade students at eight Mountain View Whisman School locations. The latest educational and engaging concert featured the group Mariachi Tierra de Oro

Faculty showcase to support scholarship program

Join CSMA for our first-ever Faculty Showcase Concert 7:30 pm Saturday, April 20th in Tateuchi Hall. Our outstanding music faculty will perform a special concert to support arts education.

CSMA A Cappella Vocal Ensemble Holds Community Performance

Students in CSMA’s A Cappella Vocal Ensemble recently brightened a Saturday morning by performing a medley of songs at the Mountain View Senior Center. Bravo!

Staff and Faculty Updates

 

Adriana Marcial joins CSMA as our new Executive Director. Adriana has a long history with the performing arts, which all stemmed from being able to access arts education at a very young age. She has extensive experience in the Bay Area nonprofit arts sector and is deeply inspired by CSMA’s mission to provide access to the arts for all.

 

Mark Cabunoc joins CSMA as a music instructor at our Belmont location. Mark will teach group music classes. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Humber College, where he studied jazz guitar and specialized in songwriting and music production.

 

Glenn Healy taught at CSMA’s Mountain View location for more than two years and is excited to transfer to the new Belmont location. With a rich history of performance spanning voice over, theater, musical theater, screen acting, art sone, oratorio, and opera, Glenn’s passion for vocal art sees no boundaries and he is excited to help students grow!

 

Elvin Hsieh joins CSMA as a new violin instructor. Elvin has served as concertmaster in multiple orchestras including the UCLA Philharmonia and the California Youth Symphony. He believes that anyone can speak the language of music and encourages everyone to explore what classical music has to offer, regardless of their musical goals.

 

Susan Jackson is the newest member of CSMA’s piano faculty. Susan is a credentialed music teacher in California and Massachusetts, and has experience teaching in the Bay Area. She loves working together with her students, seeing them grow and develop their musical skills. 

 

Saul Sanchez is our new Arts4Schools Program Coordinator. Saul has previous experience coordinating after school programs, teaching and working with artists, and is an artist himself. He holds a degree in illustration from SJSU.Welcome Saul!
