Community School of Music & Arts is expanding its reach and will soon provide arts and music programs in the City of Belmont.

In April 2024, CSMA will officially open a second location in Belmont through a unique partnership with Windy Hill Property Ventures.

CSMA Executive Director Vickie Scott Grove is proud of this unique opportunity to provide even more access to arts education: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring art and music to San Mateo County at the newly constructed Artisan Crossing apartments at 1325 Old County Rd.,” Scott Grove said.

The facility features private lesson studios and a large multi-use space for group classes for all ages. Specifically, Windy Hill Property Ventures is providing CSMA with dedicated arts programming space on the ground floor of the building.

CSMA has a 55-year history of providing access to the arts for Bay Area communities. This new endeavor will make arts education available to children and adults in Belmont and surrounding cities,  including Burlingame, San Mateo, Foster City and Redwood City. Financial aid will be available for all programs as part of CSMA’s mission of “Arts for All.”

Starting with a pilot program in April, CSMA will offer the following:

  • Private music lessons in piano, guitar, violin and voice.
  • Early childhood education classes to provide young children with important first arts experiences to aid in their development.
  • Visual art classes for ages 5 to adult taught by faculty teaching artists.
  • Group music classes.

CSMA Corporate Arts Program Manager Kyle Jubenville sees the impacts of integrating arts education in non-traditional spaces often. He is excited about this new endeavor.

“I am excited about CSMA serving Belmont and the surrounding areas because it gives us a chance to offer high quality art and music instruction in an accessible location,” Jubenville said. “It also gives artists and musicians in the area a chance to teach for us in a beautiful space without having to commute a long distance.”
