At CSMA, our private lesson team is always looking for ways to build the Bay Area’s best community for learning and performing music. Listening to parents and students is a huge part of that. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made changes to our program to give your family more flexibility, peace of mind, and opportunities to connect!
Music school director Chaz Fautch said, “Music education is a timeless, transformative force at any age or skill level, and CSMA brings that to life by making learning accessible for everyone. We listened closely to feedback and are launching these new and more flexible policies to serve our community and the needs of families. This step forward reflects CSMA’s commitment to serving our community and ensuring that transformative music education remains truly accessible to all.”
More Flexibility for Busy Schedules
We know making a long-term commitment can feel daunting when a student is starting something new. That’s why we’ve officially retired our old cancellation policy.
- Withdraw Anytime: You can now withdraw from lessons at any point during the semester with a simple 30-day notice.
- Easy Transfers: Looking for a different schedule or teacher? You can request a transfer at any time during the term (subject to teacher availability).
Easy Trial Lessons
Still deciding on the right instrument or instructor? You can now self-schedule 30- or 45-minute trial lessons directly on our website! Try out different teachers, or even different instruments, to find the right fit for your music goals.
Flexible Payment Plans & Financial Assistance
Music education is an investment, and we want to make it as accessible as possible. Families can now spread lesson costs across up to 4 installments. As part of our nonprofit mission, we also offer financial aid to qualified students.
Unbeatable Value & Community Perks
CSMA remains one of the most affordable options in the Bay Area, but your tuition includes far more than just one-on-one instruction. CSMA students gain access to a vibrant, supportive music community with free concerts, recitals, and arts events—all included at no extra charge! We also offer the largest assortment of music classes in the area, giving students unmatched access to ensemble opportunities, supplemental skill-building courses, and introductory group classes.”
More Ways to Play: Jams, Showcases, and Recitals
Music is meant to be shared! We’ve packed our calendar with fun, social opportunities to keep students motivated and connected. Our campus features a 200-seat auditorium, indoor recital halls, and outdoor performance spaces. Students can join in on:
- Community-favorite events like Jazz Jam and the Cover Band Showcase
- On-stage performances right here on campus
- Public events like choir competitions and local festivals
Built on Student Satisfaction
We are proud to share that in our recent satisfaction survey, 97% of CSMA music students reported feeling satisfied or very satisfied with their experience. We’re always listening—if you have suggestions on how we can continue to improve, please let us know!
