November Events

Paper Weaving: Integration and Decay
Now-Dec. 3
Artist Reception: Saturday, Nov. 4 (5-7 pm)
Mohr Gallery

CSMA is pleased to present “Paper Weaving: Integration and Decay” featuring the work of Bay Area artist and architect Libby Raab. Along with running her architecture studio, she works with photo and paper weaving as an exploration of colors, textures and patterns. Raab believes that, like architecture, weaving is a form of spatial expression and material experimentation

Axel Schmitt

Saturday, Nov. 4
7:30 pm Tateuchi Hall – FREE

Reviews describe Axel Schmitt as “a great pianistic talent” and an “artist of mature, extremely rich ability of expression.” He will perform the complete second book of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “The Well-Tempered Clavier,” a compendium of 48 Preludes and Fugues in all major and minor keys. This concert will conclude Schmitt’s performance of the complete “Old and New Testament” of piano repertoire.

Clerestory

Saturday, Nov. 18
7:30 pm Tateuchi Hall – FREE

Clerestory is the Bay Area’s singer-led, all-male vocal chamber ensemble. Founded in 2006, its members, including CSMA’s own Von Bringhurst, are veterans of San Francisco’s finest professional vocal groups. The ensemble has been featured on NPR and on San Francisco’s KDFC. Clerestory’s performance will consider love in its many forms, with music from multiple centuries, languages, and viewpoints.

Thank You For Supporting CSMA

Thank you for supporting CSMA’s annual gala. It was a very special evening as we honored the Nevens family and raised money to provide music and art education to all. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $277,000, which will go towards providing school program subsidies and financial aid for students who would otherwise have no access to the arts. Thank you for making a difference in your community.

We’re hiring! Learn more about how to join our diverse, dynamic and talented team and our current open positions on our Jobs page.
