Welcome to the Ceramics Studio at Community School of Music & Arts in Mountain View, CA!
Pottery classes are popular for a reason: it’s fun to unplug and create with clay, and the results are both useful and beautiful.
You’re invited to explore our friendly community ceramics studio — check out our course list below. There’s no limit to the variety our students produce!
Highlights of our program include:
- Clays, glazes, and tools are included with tuition. No more individual bags of clay drying out in the closet – at CSMA, clay is unlimited! We also offer a large selection of glazes and there is no need to buy tools.
- Studio and Kilns: CSMA has a large, bright, and clean ceramics studio equipped with a dozen wheels, handbuilding and wedging tables, a slab roller, and plentiful racks for student work. We have two onsite electric Skutt kilns to bisque and glaze-fire work to Cone 5, a mid-range temperature.
- Ceramics faculty: Our ceramics teachers are experts in their field. We employ professional teaching artists with a passion for sharing the techniques and artistry of pottery. Classes serve students of all ages and levels.
- Community events: Our campus is devoted to art-making. While onsite at CSMA, students experience free shows, concerts and art receptions and can even sell their work at our Pop-up art sale.
Many students take pottery classes with us for multiple years. They enjoy how the camaraderie and professionalism of the studio helps them create their best work!
