About This Concert
Musas Vol. II: Echoes of Immigration explores the intersection of migration, identity, and artistic expression through solo piano works by immigrant women composers. The program brings together diverse musical voices shaped by experiences of displacement, cultural adaptation, and life abroad. Through these works, audiences are invited to discover lesser-heard repertoire and the personal stories behind it, reflecting on how place, memory, and identity can shape artistic expression.

About the Artist
Costa Rican pianist Dr. Gabriela Calderón Cornejo is a multifaceted musician whose creative voice and wide-ranging artistry encompass solo performance, chamber musician, collaborative piano, adjudication, and teaching. She has cultivated her career through projects and organizations across Costa Rica, the United States, and Europe, including work with wind ensembles, choirs and orchestras, as well as world premiers, recording collaborations, and interdisciplinary projects with theater, visual arts, and dance.
- This is a free community concert. Attendees are encouraged to reserve tickets using Eventbrite at the link above. Unticketed walk-ins are permitted based on availability, but ticketed patrons will be seated first. Unused seats will be released 5 minutes before the start time. Seats are unassigned.
- Performances and screenings in Tateuchi Hall are suitable for ages 7 and up. To ensure the best experience for all guests, children should be able to sit quietly during the performance (approx. one hour).
