There are many reasons for students of all ages, abilities and aspirations to come to the Community School of Music and Arts! CSMA offers a breadth of learning opportunities, year round, in Music School, Art School and Preschool programs at our Finn Center campus in Mountain View.
CSMA’s Music School offers private music lessons on over 2 dozen instruments from outstanding instructors and musicians as well as group music classes that provide an opportunity for students to approach instrument and voice study in a positive and supportive environment. Our students range from those who simply want to enjoy the process of making music to the musically ambitious who can take workshops from top professionals. Lessons and classes can be coupled with valuable additional “core curriculum” classes such as music theory, composition and other offerings to provide a complete music education.
CSMA’s Art School provides a fun, supportive and social environment that supports students in exploring their creativity and building skills without the grades, deadlines and other pressures encountered in an academic environment. Art classes cover a wide variety of media and subject matter, and our small class sizes allow students to receive individualized attention and encouragement. At CSMA, art classes become communities where students can share and enjoy making art with others regardless of skill and talent levels. And art camps held throughout the year at CSMA encourage ongoing learning and personal expression during school holidays and vacation times.
CSMA’s Preschool curriculum meets top educational standards and has been designed to provide age and developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage little ones to explore and express themselves with art, music and movement. These classes provide an opportunity to learn, play and socialize with other children and adults – all within a safe and comfortable environment accompanied by their parent or caregiver.
