Marcos has been a performing musician since the age of 10. He began playing music on trumpet and performed in middle school, high school, and local marching and concert bands. He took up the piano at age 11, guitar at age 12, and bass at age 14. He has studied and performed many styles of music and has toured the U.S. and Europe. He has appeared as a performer on many recordings and albums and also has worked as a recording engineer in Hollywood. He has produced and engineered nine albums for various music artists.
Marcos’ teaching experience began in 1998 while attending Mira Costa College. He taught private guitar and bass lessons and acted as a substitute piano teacher for a private studio in San Diego. He has been teaching ever since, including private lessons and teaching for DayJams, a rock music summer day camp sponsored by the National Guitar Workshop. He currently teaches guitar classes at Holy Names High School in Oakland, CA.
