Juan Luna-Avin

 

 

Education

Juan holds a BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, where he was an Osher Scholar.

Experience & Exhibitions

Since 2003, Juan has been teaching two- and three-dimensional art for all grade levels through the Community School of Music and Arts, Euphrat Museum of Art, MACLA, and Association for Viet Arts, in partnership with Arts Council Silicon Valley’s Preschool Arts Enrichment Program.  His work has been shown at such venues as Queen’s Nails Annex (San Francisco), Galeria de la Raza (San Francisco), Mohr Gallery at Community School of Music and Arts (Mountain View), San Francisco Art Institute, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), and the UCLA Hammer Museum.  In April 2007, he completed a public art project at Ryland Park, in collaboration with Julio Cesar Morales and commissioned by the City of San Jose.

At CSMA, Juan has taught after-school art clubs, vacation and summer art camps, and comic books classes to children and youth.
