The World Harmony Chorus will be joined by Aswat Ensemble, the Bay Area’s premier Arab music ensemble. World Harmony Chorus and Aswat Ensemble will perform separately and together. Aswat will perform music from several Arabic-speaking nations, and World Harmony Chorus will sing songs from around the world, including Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Brittany, Bulgaria, and Iran.

The Aswat Ensemble is a multi-ethnic and multiracial music ensemble that reaches out to the diverse Bay Area community with folkloric, classical, and contemporary Arabic music. The group performs contemporary, classical, and folk songs from the Arab world. The ensemble plays traditional musical instruments such as the qanun (trapezoidal zither), ‘oud (lute), nay (reed flute), Kaman (violin), riqq/daff (tambourine), tar and darbukkah/tablah (goblet drum).
