Mandy Chiu (CSMA Faculty, piano) presents a program featuring a selection of work of French composer Claude Debussy’s most celebrated compositions in commemoration of the centennial anniversary of his death. Debussy is celebrated as a pioneer in modern composition for his ability to introduce new tonal colors into the world of music. The listening experience that he creates for audience and performer alike is unique; his compositional technique commands instruments to be played in never before seen ways. The program will feature works for violin and piano duo, cello and piano duo, and a piano trio. Accompanying Ms. Chiu during the performance are Lisa Lee (violin) and Kevin Yu (cello).
*Recommended for ages 7 and up.
