The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) in Mountain View presents Indian Art Mélange - Batik & Digital Paintings by Mathangi Sundararajan and Priyanka Reddy. The exhibition will be on display in CSMA’s Mohr Gallery from May 18 through July 1.
Mathangi Sundararajan has practiced the art of Batik since 1968. She has taught Batik in India, Brazil, Puerto Rico and the United States. She received her masters degree in Art Administration in Turabo University after completing her thesis, “Spreading Batik, the Indian traditional art in Puerto Rico”. She has taught Batik workshops in the summer at CSMA for the last 12 years.
Priyanka Reddy has a BA in Visual Arts specializing in applied arts from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishtan, Bangalore, India. She worked in India as a brand designer and taught art to children since moving to the United States. Priyanka teaches painting classes for teens and adults at CSMA.
