EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND
Qing Xu began drawing and painting as a young girl, guided by her skillful artist parents. She studied graphic design in high school, and tested successfully to gain admission to the Arts College of Shanghai University. It was during her freshman year there that Qing began teaching art. After graduation, she served for four years as an art instructor in the architecture department at TongJing University, one of the most respected architecture schools in China.
Qing relocated to the United States 20 years ago, where she continued to teach and study art. At the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, she learned to add different forms and points of view to her artwork. In 1998, she opened her studio in San Francisco. In 2002, she was awarded the Excellent Art Instructor of the New Century International Youth Fine Art Contest in Bay Area. In 2014, Qing extended her art instruction to include preschool students. Her pupils have also won various prizes from local school districts.
Qing has been with CSMA since 2012.
