“There’s a curious magic in art, and, contrary to the familiar image of the artist channeling an ethereal muse, I’ve found this magic doesn’t necessarily come from nebulous inspiration - it can be learned. There is a great deal of technical skill that comes with being a good artist, but with enough time, dedication, and attention to detail, this magic can come as a natural reflex in one’s art and creative problem solving. I approach my lessons with a strong foundation of technical skill but show how it can translate into magic, especially with each student’s own individual voice, history, and creativity.”
