COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND ARTS (CSMA) AT FINN CENTER
NAMES NEW DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Mountain View, CA – The Community School of Music and
Arts (CSMA) at Finn Center has recently named Kristina Rockhold
as Development Director. She will be responsible for fundraising,
donor cultivation, volunteer and recognition activities to ensure
the organization’s 2005-06 Annual Fund campaign goal of
$1.35 million. CSMA is the largest nonprofit provider of arts
education programs in the region.
Rockhold has been a member of CSMA’s Development Department
for the past three years, serving most recently as Major Gifts
Manager to increase corporate, foundation and individual support.
Previously, she served as Capital Campaign Manager to build CSMA’s
first permanent home, Finn Center, an $11.7 million facility
that opened in January 2004. In this capacity, she played a key
role in securing and meeting a prestigious Kresge Challenge grant
to complete the capital campaign project.
“Kristina Rockhold’s broad knowledge of the school
and her experience in the community are invaluable to the continuity
and momentum of our fundraising efforts,” commented CSMA
Executive Director Angela McConnell. “In promoting her
to this critical position, both the Board of Directors and I
recognize her leadership and strategic planning talents, as well
as her commitment to the mission of the school.”
In her new position, Rockhold will oversee the Development Department’s
grants writer, special events and volunteer coordinators, and
development associate. In addition, she will work closely with
CSMA’s senior staff and the Fund Development Committee
of the Board of Directors.
Rockhold holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism/public
relations from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis
Obispo. She is a graduate of the University of Indiana’s
Fundraising School and Major Gift Management program.
Prior to coming to CSMA, Rockhold worked as a Program Director
at Hands On Bay Area (formerly Community Impact) and as a Development
Assistant at Avenidas (formerly Senior Coordinating Council of
the Palo Alto Area, Inc.). In addition to her nonprofit experience,
she has worked as an account executive and special projects manager
in the corporate sector.
The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) at Finn Center,
a nonprofit arts education center founded in 1968, is committed
